📦 Frequently Asked Questions About Customs & Taxes
Will I have to pay taxes or duties when I receive my order?
Yes. Many countries around the world charge import duties, VAT, or other taxes on international packages. These costs are not included in Hola Korea’s prices or shipping fees.
How much will I have to pay?
It depends on your country’s customs regulations, the value of your order, and the type of product.
- Some countries have minimum thresholds (small orders may be exempt).
- Others apply taxes or duties to nearly all imports.
Who is responsible for paying these taxes?
The customer is responsible for paying any import duties, VAT, or local taxes at the time of delivery. Hola Korea cannot control or estimate these charges, as each country sets its own rules.
Examples of possible charges (for reference only – actual fees may vary):
- Brazil: Orders over $50 may pay 60% or more in taxes.
- Chile: VAT 19% + duty (some products exempt).
- Colombia: VAT 19% + duty (depending on the product).
- Argentina: Duties 22–35% + VAT 21%.
- Uruguay: Exempt for up to 3 packages under $200 (if pre-registered).
- Europe/Other Countries: Each country has its own thresholds, VAT rates, and duties.
Tips for Customers:
- Check your country’s customs website before purchasing.
- Consider combining items in larger orders, as taxes and shipping are often more cost-effective on higher-value packages.
